Meet the Coaches

Coach Amy Evert is returning for her 5th year as head coach of the Starr’s Mill Boys and Girls Tennis Teams. She is excited for the upcoming season after coming off a successful season last year where both teams performed well in the state playoffs. The Girls Team qualified for the State Sweet Sixteen round, while the Boys Team became State Quarter Finalists. Coach Evert has a B.S. in Business Education and has earned her Masters and Specialist degrees in Special Education. She currently serves as the LEA and Lead Special Education Teacher at Starr’s Mill High School where she has taught for the last 14 years. Coach Evert and her husband have two children. 

Coach Craig Healy, our community coach, has been coaching tennis for almost 25 years here in PTC!  After running the Junior division at the PTC Tennis Center, he became the Director of Tennis at Whitewater Country Club, where he has been for the last 10 years. He is an USPTA Elite Professional, a member of the Wilson Advisory Staff and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has been nominated and won the Ga Pro of the year multiple times for himself and teams he has coached.  He has trained numerous players that went on to play at every level of collegiate tennis ( D1, D2 and D3 ). He also has worked with multiple professional WTA top 150 players and even an Olympic Gold medalist!  He is excited for every opportunity at Starr’s Mill and for all players to grow into the best possible player they can be !
